A: Your McDonald's habit is safe. We are not 'under the law' like the Jews of the Old Testament. When Christ died he put an end to the system of Old Testament Law.
A couple of important things to remember:
1) O.T. Law was given to the Israelites, not to Christians. And there were several reasons for this. The law helped them understand how to obey God, how to worship God, and some of the rules were made to 'set apart' Israel from other nations. (Remember, they were God's chosen people.)
In the New Testament, in Galatians 6:2, Jesus tells us to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it - love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law (O.T. Law) and the Prophets hang on these commandments"
If we do these things, we'll be doing all that Jesus wants us to do. Think about it. If you're loving God, you won't want to worship false idols. If you love your neighbor, you're not gonna covet his wife, bear false witness against him, or murder him... Even when he borrows your lawnmower and doesn't bring it back.
See you at McDonald's!
